When board packs grow but decisions do not
Fintech boards often receive thicker packs as products multiply. That growth is not automatically better governance. A paper that restates dashboards without naming the exception, the owner, and the ask leaves directors guessing.
In audits we ask a simple test: after reading this paper, can a director state what changed, why it matters, and what the board is being asked to do? If the answer is no, the issue is reporting design — not director diligence.
Trim duplicated charts across committees. Put the exception and recommendation above the fold. Keep appendices for evidence, not for burying the ask. Those changes usually shrink the pack and improve the conversation.
