Refunds & cancellations

This policy applies to paid governance reporting audit and related advisory engagements with Tech Innovationlab. Website pricing is informational only; binding fees appear in your written proposal. We do not sell physical products or run online checkout.

Eligibility

Refunds are considered only for fees paid under a signed proposal or letter of engagement. Deposits and staged fees are refundable only as described below or as expressly stated in your proposal.

Timeframe to request a refund

Submit refund requests in writing to hello@tech-innovationlab.digital within fourteen (14) days of the payment date, or within seven (7) days of receiving a deliverable you believe is materially incomplete relative to the agreed scope — whichever is later, unless your proposal sets a different window.

Full refund

A full refund of the unused fee is available if we cancel an engagement before kick-off for reasons within our control, or if you cancel in writing before the scheduled kick-off and no preparatory work has begun.

Partial refund

If work has started — including pack sampling, workshops, interviews, or drafting — fees for completed stages are non-refundable. Unused future stages may be refunded on a pro-rata basis after deducting costs already incurred (for example scheduled facilitator time that cannot be reallocated).

Non-refundable items

The following are non-refundable once incurred or delivered: completed audit modules, issued findings memos, board-ready summaries already delivered, and third-party costs pre-approved by you (such as secure data-room fees).

Cancellation by you

Cancel in writing. If you cancel after kick-off, you remain responsible for fees for work performed and for any non-cancellable costs we committed with your approval. Rescheduling of workshops with at least five business days’ notice is usually accommodated without extra charge; shorter notice may incur a rescheduling fee stated in the proposal.

Cancellation by us

If we must cancel due to conflict of interest, capacity, or circumstances beyond our control, we will refund fees for undelivered stages and cooperate on an orderly handover of work already produced.

Deposits and no-shows

Where a proposal requires a deposit to reserve start dates, the deposit is applied to the first invoice. If key attendees repeatedly fail to attend agreed workshops without notice, we may treat the session as delivered for billing purposes and reschedule remaining work at our discretion.

Work already started

Once we have accessed your board packs, minutes, or evidence materials, that stage is considered started. Materials prepared for you remain subject to the confidentiality terms in the engagement letter; refunds do not create a licence to republish our templates as your own product.

Refund process and timing

Email your request with the engagement reference, payment date, and reason. We confirm receipt within five business days and aim to decide within fifteen business days. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method where possible, typically within fourteen business days after approval.

Exceptions

Statutory rights under Hong Kong law that cannot be excluded remain unaffected. If your proposal contains specific refund terms, those terms prevail for that engagement.
